LA School of Gymnastics draws on a distinguished and diverse group of nationally and internationally trained coaches from over 14 countries. All coaches are required to complete the USA Gymnastics (national governing body of gymnastics in the United States ) and OSHA Infant & CPR certification courses. Ten LASG coaches have Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Anatomy and Physiology, or are former professional athletes. Together, its 27 coaches have over 120 years of combined coaching experience.

Alla Svirsky

Executive Director

Alla Svirsky is a three-time Olympic coach, seven times USA Gymnastics Coach of the Year, USA Olympic Judge and Inductee to the Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Alla holds two Masters degrees in Anatomy and Physiology and Physical Education. She has been with the school from the beginning and continues to take an active role in both domestic and international gymnastics. She represents USA Gymnastics on all Continents as Head Coach. She has placed two gymnasts on USA Olympic Teams and has coached 15 USA National Champions. She was a USC Artistic Gymnastics Head Coach for seven years. Also, for eight years, she served on the USA Gymnastics Board of Directors.

Elena Bokova

Operations Manager / Rhythmic Elite Coach

Elena is a former competitive gymnast, a representative of the famous Russian School of Rhythmic Gymnastics with more than 10 years of national and international coaching experience. Elena is Russian Federation Master of Sports Gymnast ( the award for the outstanding achievements in sport, which is one of the highest honors a Russian athlete can achieve. She is the winner and medalist of national and international competitions in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and a graduate of Olympic Reserve Sports School in Samara ( RUS) Elena holds two degrees: Master in Business Administration from University of Missouri – Columbia, and a Specialist in Teaching from Samara State Pedagogical University, Russia. She is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified. In recognition of high scholastic achievement, she has been selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for collegiate schools of business. Elena is a Professional USA gymnastic member and USA Gymnastics Safety and Instructor certified.

Tanya Berenson

General Manager

In 1995 Tanya Berenson found an interest in a position at a non-profit organization at the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics ( Since this time, she has founded a program for Special Education for Gymnastics and started programs including the LA Lights Tournament of Champions ( The LA Lights Meet Tournament has is the FIRST FIG ( competition that has ever been sanctioned in the United States.

She has also served as a consultant to USA Gymnastics and help co-found Cheer4uAthletics which is the FIRST All-Star competitive Cheerleading Team in Los Angeles ( She has come from an All-Star gymnastics background and her mother is Alla Svirsky who is a 3-time USA Olympic Judge, USA Inductee to the Gymnastics Hall of Fame and founded Los Angeles School of Gymnastics ( She currently resides in Beverly Hills, California ( and serves as a Board Member for the Hampton’s Homeowner’s Association (

Carolina Hernandez



Carolina has been with LA School of Gymnastics for 5 years. She is dedicated to working with children as a leader in LAUSD Special Education department for over 15 years, she brings a vast amount of her expertise in a variety of areas of office management at LASG. She holds a Bachelor’s from Cal State Northridge in Liberal Arts and a current Master’s student at National University in Education. Carolina speaks English and Spanish helping our growing Hispanic population with excellent customer service and outstanding family/child support. Carolina has a 10-year girl and 5-year-old son, combined with her experience as a loving mother and educator, we are honored to have Carolina celebrating her 6th year at LASG in 2018.

Erman Yumul

Erman is a graduate at Arizona State University with a degree in Graphic Information Technology. He brings 8 years of combined experience in social media marketing, website/graphic design, email marketing and SEO. When not in the office, Erman loves to hike and explore the mountains of LA and Orange Counties.

Esmeralda Lopez

Esmeralda has been with LA School of Gymnastics for 4 years now and loves working with children and parents. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she has a strong connection with Angelenos. She brings great leadership to the office and enjoys working with other staff members. She speaks both Spanish and English fluent which helps her help both our Spanish speaking and non-Spanish speaking parents and students. Michelle Franco

Morning Shift Manager

Origin: Colombia


Michelle Franco has been with LA School of Gymnastics for over 3 years and serves as the Morning Shift Manager. She has a young daughter and extensive experience working with children. Michelle manages the Charter School programs exclusively help at LASG, homeschool groups classes and overall provides an excellent customer service experience for all of our client. Michelle is studying to be a licensed ultrasound technician outside of her time at LASG to further her experience helping mommies during their pregnancies. Kennia Reyes

Kennia is currently attending West Los Angeles College and plans to transfer to a four-year university to obtain her degree. As a nursing student, she is passionate about working with kids. She works hard and encourages kids to do the same. She believes that every child can be a role model. She sets a great example for younger kids that is why everyone loves being around with her.
